Jade Börjesson - Dr. Martens at Work
For 29 years I've worn and loved Dr Martens. I still have the original pair that Mum bought me in 1995, unlaced and kept safe from the mess of my work as a scenic painter. I have bought and ruined many pairs of Docs. The pair of boots that feature in this series was purchased for $50. I have documented the unintentional, gradual transformation of the boots over 100 of my working days. I hope I can inspire recognition of art inherent in our daily lives, a reminder that even the simplest objects can hold significance if we take time to observe and engage in them.
